Eligibility: People who submit a nomination (each a “Nominator”) must be legal residents of fifty (50) United States and District of Columbia and 18 years of age or older as of August 18, 2014. People who are nominated (each a "Nominee") must be legal residents of one of the Eligible Locales as hereinafter defined below, 18 years or older as of August 18, 2014 and be “community heroes” serving one of the following Pennsylvania cities or counties: Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Mifflin and/or York (together “Eligible Locales”). The Nominee must also be someone with whom the Nominator is personally acquainted, and Nominator must have Nominee's permission to nominate him/her. A Nominator may not nominate him or herself. All applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

Employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives of Dunkin' Brands, Inc. (“Sponsor”), Dunkin’ Donuts Advertising & Sales Promotion Fund and any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, franchisees and their employees, licensees, distributors, suppliers, subsidiaries, retailers, advertising/promotion agencies, prize providers, Alliance Marketing Partners, Inc. and American Sweepstakes & Promotion Co. Inc. (“A/S/C”) (collectively, “Released Parties”) and members of the immediate family (mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters and spouse, regardless of where they reside) and household members, whether or not related, are not eligible to participate as a Nominator or as a Nominee. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. . This promotion is intended for viewing in the United States only. Void outside the Counties listed above and where restricted or prohibited by law.

How to Participate: Visit www.ddthankstoyou.com between 12:00:01AM Eastern Time ("ET") on August 18, 2014 and 11:59:59PM ET on October 17, 2014 (“Nomination Period”). Complete the online nomination form according to the instructions provided, including full name, email address, phone number and address of the Nominator, the full name, address, email address and phone number of the Nominee, an essay of (1,000) words or less (counting all characters, including spaces, numbers, punctuation, etc.) that expresses why you believe the individual you are nominating deserves to be awarded a Community Hero Award by explaining how the Nominee helps to keep his/her community running every day and why the Nominee should be selected as an award recipient (“the Nomination”). Once you complete and submit your Nomination, it is final and may not be modified or edited further. No Nominations will be returned. Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, remove, delete and/or disqualify Nominations deemed to be inappropriate or otherwise noncompliant. A Nominee may be nominated more than once; however there is a limit of one (1) Nomination per Nominator per valid e-mail address per household during the Nomination Period. Additional Nominations received from any Nominator, e-mail address or household thereafter will be void. In the event of a dispute as to the identity or eligibility of the Nominator, the Nomination will be declared made by the Authorized Account Holder of the e-mail address provided at the time of Nomination and he/she must comply with these Official Rules. “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person eighteen (18) years of age or older who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provided, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. All required information must be completed to submit a Nomination. Incomplete Nominations will be disqualified. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to void any and all Nominations of a Nominator who submits more than one Nomination using multiple/different addresses, identities, or any other methods, or who Sponsor believes has attempted to tamper with, influence or impair the administration, security, fairness, or proper administration of this Contest. Proof of entering information is not considered proof of delivery to or receipt by Sponsor of a Nomination. Released Parties are not responsible for: lost, late, incomplete, illegible, incorrect, inaccurate, damaged, delayed, garbled, undelivered, or misdirected Nominations or emails. Any use of robotic, automatic, programmed method or any other method which subverts the Nomination process will void all such Nominations by such methods. All Nominations become the property of Sponsor.

Grant of Rights: By submitting a Nomination, Nominator on his or her own behalf and on behalf of the Nominee (with the Nominee’s permission) grants and assigns to Sponsor and its designees all right, title and interest in and to the Nomination, including, without limitation, all copyright, trademark and other intellectual property rights therein and grants and assigns to Sponsor and its designees a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, unrestricted, irrevocable and fully sub licensable right and license to consider, disclose, use, re-use, reproduce, modify, digitize or enhance, adapt, change, edit, publish, translate, exploit, creative derivative works from, distribute, redistribute, and/or display the Nomination (in whole or in part) and/or incorporate all or part of Nominator’s Nomination in other works all in a manner and in any form, format, or media anywhere in the world at any time, as well as in connection with any distribution or syndication arrangement with third parties or third-party sites, in any media format or medium and through any media channels and for any purpose, without further notice or compensation to Nominator or Nominee. Sponsor and its designees have the right to use any and all Nominations, and any and all elements appearing in the Nomination, including names, likenesses, symbols and phrases of any kind for future advertising, marketing, commercial, promotion and publicity in any manner and in any medium now known or hereafter devised throughout the world in perpetuity without compensation or notice to Nominator. Nominator waives any and all “moral rights” Nominator may have in the Nomination. Your submission of a Nomination constitutes your representation of Nominator’s and Nominee’s eligibility. Nominator’s and Nominee’s consent to participate in this Contest, and Nominator’s and Nominee’s consent of Sponsor to obtain, use, and transfer Nominator’s and Nominee’s name, address, and other information for the purpose of Contest administration.

Sponsor is in no way obligated to use any Nomination and Nominator may or may not be given any credit or attribution if the Nomination is subsequently used. Nominator and Nominee agree to waive all claims to receive any royalties of any kind now or in the future from Sponsor or its designees for any use of any Nomination, including, without limitation, copyright or trademark royalties and Nominator and Nominee represent, warrant and agree that no other party is entitled to claim any royalties from the use of the Nomination as set further in these full Official Rules.

By submitting a Nomination, Nominator represents and warrants that (i) he/she has permission from the Nominee to submit the Nomination, (ii) the Nomination is original and is Nominator’s own work and does not infringe or violate any third party’s copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, defamation, privacy, publicity, false light, idea misappropriate or any contractual rights or any other rights; (iii) the Nomination is true, accurate and verifiable and is an expression of his/her personal experience and/or belief; (iv) Nominator has not copied or used other works of others in the Nomination without permission or right to do so, and (v) no other persons other than Nominator and Nominee have any right, title or interest in any part of the Nomination.

Nominations may not contain any of the following: (i) materials which include or constitute trademarks, trade names or copyrighted works created or owned by any person or entity other than Nominator or for which the Nominator has not obtained owner’s permission to use; (ii) materials bearing profanities or that are lewd, obscene, pornographic, disparaging, indecent or that are otherwise deemed to be inappropriate by Sponsor; (iii) materials which bear the name or likeness of any celebrity, living or dead or which contain visible identifiable or potentially identifiable information including but not limited to phone numbers, website links, street addresses, email addresses or license plate numbers; (iv) inappropriate behavior for a general audience; (v) materials which violate anyone’s reasonable privacy expectations, violate any known agreement, or which are defamatory in nature; vi) violence in any form; (vi) materials which are derogatory to Sponsor, its products or services or any affiliated entity or person; (viii) materials which are discriminatory based on race, religion, national origin, physical disability, age, sex, or sexual orientation or preference; and (ix) materials which do not comply with all other requirements in these Official Rules or that violate any law. Nominations which do not conform to these guidelines will be disqualified. Sponsor reserves the right to reject or disqualify any Nomination which Sponsor, in its sole and absolute discretion, determines to be inconsistent with the letter or spirit of the Official Rules or the Contest or potentially damaging to its, the Contest’s, or another’s image or reputation. Contest Judging: All eligible Nominations will be judged by a panel of qualified judges, whose decisions are final and binding, to determine the winners using the following criteria:

  1. Contributions the Nominee has made to other residents of his/her local community: 40%
  2. The Nominee’s community-driven activities and accomplishments within his/her local community: 40%
  3. Reasons expressed by Nominator as to why Nominee deserves to receive the Community Hero Award: 20%

In the event of a tie, the judges will determine the winner based on the contribution the Nominee has made to the other residents of their local community. Sponsor reserves the right not to award all prizes if, in its sole discretion, it receives an insufficient number of eligible and qualified Nominations. Prize awards are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these Official Rules. For the purpose of these Official Rules, the Nominee who is the subject of the winning Nomination and not the Nominator of the winning Nomination will be deemed the “winner” and eligible to receive the prize. Decisions of the Sponsor and judges are final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest. A Nominee can only win once and can only win one (1) prize.

Winner Notification/Conditions: Potential winners and their respective Nominators will be notified by telephone, mail and/or email and may be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release (unless prohibited by law) and any other documents required by Sponsor, which must be returned within five (5) days of date appearing on prize notification. Return of prize or prize notification as undeliverable, failure to sign and return requested documentation by a potential winner within the specified time period, the inability of Sponsor to contact a potential winner within a reasonable time period or noncompliance with these Official Rules by any potential winner may result in disqualification and, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, the prize may be awarded to a runner-up. If any potential winner is an eligible minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prize in the name of his/her parent or legal guardian who will be responsible for fulfilling all requirements imposed on winners set forth herein. Winners must agree not to release any publicity or other materials on their own or through someone else regarding their participation in the Contest without the prior consent of the Sponsor, which it may withhold in its sole discretion. Winner must agree that upon receipt of winning prize (except where prohibited) Sponsor may use winner’s name, city and state of residence, picture, portrait, likeness and voice, biographical information and Nomination for advertising, promotional and other purposes, in any and all media, now or hereafter devised, in any manner, worldwide, in perpetuity, without further compensation, notification or permission.

Prizes & Approximate Retail Values (“ARVs”):
Grand Prize (10): $1000, ARV: $1000 each. First Prize (100): A coupon book that contains fifty-two (52) free coupons for one (1) medium non flavored or non-specialty coffee. Coupons are valid for one year and are only redeemable at participating Dunkin’ Donuts shops in the month specified on the coupon, unless otherwise stated. Coupons valid in participating Dunkin’ Donuts shops in the following Pennsylvania cities or counties: Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, and/or York. ARV: $150.00 each. Total ARV of all prizes: $25,000. Prize money and coupons are subject to terms and conditions specified by issuers. Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied. Winners may not substitute, assign or transfer a prize or redeem a prize for cash, but Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value. Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes, if any, as well as any other costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided. All prize details are at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Limit one (1) prize per person/household. Nominators will not win a prize. Limitation of Liability: Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend part or all of this Contest for any reason, including but not limited to; non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other causes that corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Contest. If terminated, a notice will be posted online and Sponsor may, at its discretion, select winners from all non-suspect, eligible Nominations received prior to action taken using the judging procedure set forth herein or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor. Failure to comply with these Rules may result in disqualification.

Released Parties are not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing or judging of Nominations, the announcement of the prizes or in any Contest-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to any person's computer related to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading materials from or use of the website. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Contest or website, who act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or who are in violation of these Official Rules, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified and all associated Nominations will be void.


General Conditions: By accepting a prize, where permitted by law, each winner grants to Sponsor, its parent, subsidiaries, related companies, and franchisees, and those acting pursuant to the authority of Sponsor (which grant will be confirmed in writing upon Sponsor’s request), the right to print, publish, broadcast, use, and otherwise exploit worldwide in perpetuity, in any manner, IN ANY AND ALL MEDIA, whether now known or hereafter devised, without limitation at any time the winner’s full name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness and/or biographical information for advertising, trade, commercial and promotional purposes without further payment or additional consideration, and without review, approval or notification.

OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS: By participating in the Contest, Nominators agree on their own behalf and on behalf of the Nominee (with Nominee’s permission) to be bound by these Official Rules and agree that: 1.) Released Parties and their designees and assigns shall have the right and permission to print, publish, broadcast and use (unless prohibited by law) the Nominator’s and Nominee’s name, photograph, likeness, statements, biographical information, voice and address (city and state), in any manner, in all forms of media whether now known or hereafter devised, worldwide, without limitation, in perpetuity, for advertising, trade, commercial and promotional purposes without further notice, permission or compensation, and 2.) Released Parties, their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, dealers, distributors, suppliers, and prize providers, and their designees and assigns shall have no liability, and Nominator and Nominee will indemnify, defend and hold Released Parties harmless from any liability, loss, injury, or damage to Nominator or Nominee or any other person or entity, including, without limitation, personal injury, death or damage to personal or real property, to Nominator, Nominee or any other person or entity, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize (including any prize activity or travel related thereto) or participation in this Contest. Winners further acknowledge that said parties have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prize, including, but not limited to, its quality or fitness for a particular purpose.

Miscellaneous: Nominators or Nominees who violate these Official Rules are subject to disqualification. Sponsor is the sole arbiter of whether conduct by a Nominator or Nominee constitutes a violation of these Official Rules whose decisions will be final and binding. Any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket cost incurred but in no event attorney’s fees. All issues concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. By entering this Contest or accepting a prize, Nominators and Nominees agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and judges and to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
